Design Specifications
Utilities that use CityTaps CTSuite install weather-proof smart meter devices at the residences of paying customers. Customers can load funds or credit onto their accounts via the mobile app or USSD mobile phone services. Customers get notified when their credit is low or depleted, and they can add more funds. The software is designed to allow utilities to monitor leaks, fraud, blocked meters, and history of water consumption while also improving cash inflow balancing with expenses, increasing OPEX savings by 10-20% and making collection ratios 100% with no customer debt. Consumption data is transmitted via either radio gateways or the Internet of Things to mobile devices every 30 minutes. Installation requires no specific tools and is simple.
Technical Support
Training is provided by the manufacturer during implementation, then utilities are responsible for maintenance. Regular software updates, automatic meter readings, and data hosting are all services for which the utility subscribes from CityTaps, paid for on a per unit per month basis.
