The goal of this project is to investigate how textile waste can be used for building materials suitable to The Industrial Commons current waste stream and processes. The Fellow would conduct background research on textile applications in the building materials industry and processes for manufacturing these building materials (e.g., insulation); determine the suitability of their textile materials as inputs; and identify process/market challenges and opportunities, regulatory requirements, and alternative applications.
