Fostering Sustainable Land Design and Revitalization

The objective of this project is to help advance place-specific initiatives for sustainable and context sensitive land development/redevelopment. This includes strategies for: rainwater harvesting, retention and/or diversion; green infrastructure; fostering resilience / adaptation to climate change and extreme weather events; and ecological restoration and land regeneration. The Fellow will have responsibilities across various stages of project development: owning work that ranges from conceptual planning to detailed design and experimentation. Three distinct sites offer a variety of context-specific needs and opportunities for innovative, sustainable design and development strategies. This will include work to 1) help advance an in-process rain garden project; 2) advance planning, design, and implementation strategies for multiple sites which integrate public gathering spaces, agriculture production structures, ecological restoration and regeneration, water conservation infrastructure, site circulation, and parking.
