This project will propose and evaluate options for clean energy systems with a focus on (a) energy access and equity, (b) transitioning to low-carbon and no-carbon energy sources, and (c) facilitating economic development. Of specific interest are integrated thermal and electrical systems, and integrated energy planning, with attention on how to transition cooking, heating, and electrical uses to sustainable energy. Work may include country-level strategies or community-level strategies, depending on the strengths and interests of the applicant. Expected countries of focus to be in Sub-Saharan Africa, Central Asia, and the Asia-Pacific Region. Technical and economic analyses will be involved in the project, with optional inclusion of regulation and policy.
